Does PNG have metadata?
Yes, PNG files can contain metadata. Unlike JPEG, PNG does not normally use EXIF as its primary metadata mechanism. Depending on the software that created the file, a PNG may contain text chunks, software information, timestamps, XMP and other embedded data. The easiest way to find out what a particular PNG contains is to upload it to the viewer above.

PNG metadata varies significantly depending on the application that created or exported the file.
Does PNG support EXIF metadata?
Not natively in the way JPEG does. Some software embeds EXIF-like data into PNG using non-standard extensions, and our engine will surface it when detected via exiftool, but you should not assume a PNG carries the same metadata as a JPEG from the same camera.
What can PNG metadata reveal?
